CARDA's Drone Assembly, Maintenance and Repair programme in Coimbatore teaches people, including students, engineers and those changing careers, how to become professionals who can work on drones. The course has three parts: drone assembly, which includes building the frame, mounting the motor, wiring the ESC, setting up the flight controller and putting in the payload; maintenance, which includes checking the drone before and after it flies, taking care of the battery, and making sure the propeller and frame are okay; and repair, which includes figuring out what is wrong with the motor, looking at the flight controller to see what is wrong, and learning how to solder and waterproof the drone. Because many companies in India are starting to use drones for things like farming, building, shipping and defence, they really need people who know how to fix and take care of drones. When people finish the course they can get jobs as drone technicians, work on keeping drones in good condition, or even start their own businesses fixing drones.
