The Fisher & Paykel 254845 Refrigerator Hot Surface Igniter provides the heat required to initiate ignition in compatible refrigerator gas systems. This 24-volt electrical component uses an internal heating element that reaches a high temperature when electrical power is supplied, creating the heat needed to ignite the gas and start the related heating process. Installed within the appliance’s ignition system, it operates as part of the sequence that supports proper burner operation. Replacing a damaged igniter can restore the ignition process and support consistent appliance operation. This part is designed for compatible models and should be checked against the appliance model and existing component before installation to ensure proper fit and electrical compatibility.
