The Frigidaire 242294402 Water Filter Bypass Plug maintains water dispenser and ice maker operation when a refrigerator water filter is not installed. This replacement plug fits into the filter housing and directs the water flow through the system without passing through a filter cartridge. It is designed for compatible refrigerator models that require a bypass component for proper water circulation. Using the appropriate bypass plug can prevent interruptions in water flow and maintain normal dispenser or ice maker function when filtration is not being used. Its simple design allows straightforward installation and removal as needed. This practical component is suitable for replacing a missing or damaged bypass plug while maintaining the refrigerator’s intended water system operation.
