The Frigidaire 297216600 Defrost Thermostat regulates the refrigerator’s defrost cycle and supports consistent temperature control. This component monitors the temperature near the evaporator and controls the defrost heater according to preset temperature conditions. When frost requires removal, the thermostat allows the heater circuit to activate, once the temperature reaches the specified level, it interrupts the circuit to prevent unnecessary heating. A functional thermostat can support proper defrosting, reduce excessive frost buildup, and maintain efficient cooling performance. Replacing a damaged or faulty thermostat may address issues such as frost accumulation, incomplete defrost cycles, or inconsistent cooling. Designed for compatible Frigidaire refrigerator models, this replacement part provides a practical solution for appliance repair and maintenance.
