The General Electric WH03X31937 Washer Mode Shifter controls the washer’s drive mode to support proper agitation and spin operation during selected cycles. This mechanical component works with the washer’s transmission and drive system to shift between different operating functions, allowing the tub or agitator to move according to the cycle requirements. Proper mode shifting supports smooth transitions between wash and spin functions and consistent washer performance. A worn, damaged, or malfunctioning mode shifter may cause improper agitation, spinning, or unusual operation. Replacing the component can restore correct drive-mode selection, improve cycle performance, and maintain reliable everyday washer operation.
