Like personal loans, auto loans are secured by the vehicle that you’re purchasing with them, meaning that the lender can take ownership of the car if you fail to pay off your debt. Because of this, lenders typically only approve borrowers who have good credit. If it needs improvement, work on that before applying for an auto loan, as this could save you money in the long run.
