The Whirlpool W10709921 Halogen Light Bulb provides clear illumination for the microwave cooking area and surrounding surface. This replacement bulb uses a halogen filament to produce light when electrical power is supplied, making it easier to view food and monitor cooking without opening the microwave door. It can also illuminate the area beneath an over-the-range microwave, depending on the appliance design. A burned-out, dim, or damaged bulb may reduce visibility during cooking or leave the surrounding area poorly lit.
