The Whirlpool W10820036 Lid Switch Kit monitors the washing machine lid position to support proper cycle operation. This replacement kit is designed to detect whether the lid is open or closed and send the appropriate signal to the appliance’s control system. Depending on the machine’s design, the switch can prevent certain functions, such as spinning or agitation, from operating when the lid is not properly closed. A worn or malfunctioning lid switch may interrupt normal cycle performance or cause the washer to stop unexpectedly. Designed for compatible washing machine models, this kit provides a practical replacement option for restoring correct lid detection and maintaining reliable everyday operation.
