The Whirlpool W10822278 White Defrost Timer controls scheduled defrost cycles to reduce frost accumulation on the refrigerator evaporator. This replacement timer switches between cooling and defrost modes at set intervals, allowing the defrost heater to melt accumulated frost before cooling resumes. Proper timing maintains the defrost cycle and supports consistent temperature control. A faulty timer may cause excessive frost, reduced cooling, or incorrect defrost cycling.
