The Whirlpool W11177238 Refrigerator Door Mullion Rail ensures a consistent seal between doors to support stable cooling performance. This component is a structural rail installed between the fresh food doors, where it operates by aligning and guiding the door edges during opening and closing. When the doors close, the mullion rail helps position the gaskets to reduce air exchange between the refrigerator interior and the surrounding environment. Mounted vertically along the center divider, it integrates with the door hinges, seals, and cabinet frame as part of the door closure system. Its role is an essential factor in maintaining temperature control, improving cooling efficiency, and supporting reliable operation of the refrigerator during use.
