The Whirlpool W11490736 Washer Lid Assembly provides the top cover needed to close and protect the washer’s tub during operation. Designed for compatible washing machine models, this assembly fits over the upper portion of the appliance and works with the lid components to support proper opening and closing. When closed, it helps shield the wash area and keeps the tub enclosed during a cycle. A properly fitted lid assembly also supports the washer’s intended operation and provides a finished appearance to the appliance. Replacing a damaged lid assembly can restore proper fit, alignment, and access to the washer tub. The assembly should be checked against the washer model to ensure compatibility before installation.
