The Whirlpool WP8540221 Washer Door Strike provides the connection point that secures the washer door during operation. This small mechanical part attaches to the washer door and engages with the door lock or latch when the door is closed. It helps keep the door properly positioned and supports the locking mechanism during wash cycles. A properly fitted strike can assist with reliable door closure and prevent the door from shifting during operation. Replacing a damaged or worn strike can restore proper door alignment and support normal washer operation. This part is designed for compatible washer models and should be checked against the appliance model before installation to ensure proper fit and operation.
