The Whirlpool WP207166 Lid Check Switch detects whether the washer lid is properly closed, supporting safe and appropriate washer function. This replacement electrical component responds to the lid’s position and communicates its status to the washer’s control system. Depending on the washer model, the switch allows designated wash functions to proceed when the lid meets the required condition. A faulty switch may prevent the washer from starting, interrupt cycles, or cause lid-related issues. Replacing a damaged switch can restore proper lid detection and support reliable washer performance.
