The Whirlpool WP2188808 Water Inlet Valve controls water flow into compatible refrigerators for the ice maker and water dispenser. This replacement valve connects to the refrigerator’s water supply line and opens when the appliance calls for water, allowing a measured flow into the required component. It closes when the water demand ends, regulating supply and reducing unnecessary flow. A worn or faulty valve may cause slow filling, insufficient water delivery, or leaks around the connection. Replacing the valve can restore proper water distribution and support consistent ice maker and dispenser performance.
