The Whirlpool WP338906 Dryer Flame Sensor detects burner flame heat and signals the control system to regulate gas flow in compatible gas dryers. Using heat-sensitive detection, it verifies flame presence before the gas valve remains open, supporting proper burner control during drying cycles. A faulty sensor may prevent ignition, cause the burner to shut off unexpectedly, or result in inconsistent heating. Replacing a worn or damaged sensor can restore accurate flame detection and proper burner control. This replacement component provides a practical solution for maintaining consistent heating and appropriate gas burner function.
