The Whirlpool WP34001098 Drain Pump removes used water from the washing machine during drain and spin cycles. This replacement component uses an electric motor and impeller to move wastewater through the drain hose and out of the washer. Proper drainage supports effective rinsing and allows the washer to progress through its selected cycles. A faulty pump may cause standing water, incomplete draining, or interrupted wash cycles. Replacing a defective drain pump can restore proper water removal and improve washer performance when the pump is the source of the problem.
