The Whirlpool WP4387503 Bimetal Defrost Thermostat helps regulate the refrigerator’s defrost cycle by monitoring temperature around the evaporator. This temperature-sensitive component allows the defrost system to operate within its intended range, helping control when the defrost heater switches on and off. By supporting the removal of frost buildup from the evaporator, it helps maintain proper airflow and consistent cooling performance. A faulty thermostat may cause excessive frost accumulation or interfere with the defrost process, potentially affecting the refrigerator’s cooling efficiency. Replacing a defective component can restore proper defrost control and support normal refrigerator operation. Designed for compatible refrigerator models, this replacement part helps maintain the performance of the appliance’s automatic defrost system.
