The Whirlpool WP8523793 Range Surface Burner Spark Igniter creates the electrical spark required to light a gas cooktop burner. When the ignition system is activated, the igniter produces a spark near the burner ports, allowing the gas to ignite and provide a flame for cooking. This component supports dependable burner lighting and convenient use of the range. A worn or defective igniter may cause delayed ignition, repeated clicking, or difficulty lighting the burner. Replacing the faulty part can restore proper spark generation and consistent burner ignition. Before purchasing, check your range’s model number to verify compatibility and confirm that this replacement part matches your appliance’s requirements.
