The Whirlpool WP9759242 Limit Thermostat Fuse protects the range from excessive temperature by interrupting electrical current when heat reaches a specified limit. This replacement safety component monitors temperature within the range and opens the electrical circuit when the preset threshold is exceeded, reducing the risk of overheating. Once activated, a failed fuse must be replaced to restore the affected circuit. A damaged or blown thermostat fuse may cause certain heating functions to stop working or prevent the range from heating properly. Replacing it restores the intended temperature protection and electrical continuity.
