The Whirlpool WPW10222828 Range Surface Element Switch regulates power to the cooktop heating element, allowing users to adjust heat settings for cooking. This electrical component operates by switching the power supply to the selected surface element according to the control knob position. Installed behind the range’s control panel, it connects the user-operated knob to the electrical circuit that manages the burner’s heating level. The switch supports proper heat adjustment and helps maintain reliable operation of the cooktop during everyday use. Replacing a worn or damaged switch can restore burner control and provide consistent adjustment of cooking temperatures. Before installation, verify compatibility with the range model to ensure proper fit and electrical connection.
