The Whirlpool WPW10224428 Dishwasher Detergent Dispenser releases detergent at the correct stage of the wash cycle for effective dish cleaning. Located inside the dishwasher door, this component stores detergent and opens when activated by the control system, allowing detergent to mix with water and remove food residue from dishes, glasses, and utensils. A faulty dispenser may leave detergent unused in the compartment or cause poor cleaning results. Replacing a damaged unit can restore proper detergent release and support consistent washing performance. Before purchasing, verify your dishwasher’s model number to confirm compatibility and ensure the replacement dispenser fits your appliance.
