The Whirlpool WPW10409079 Washer Water Drain Pump removes wastewater from the washer tub during the drain cycle. Its motor-driven mechanism pushes water through the drain hose, allowing the machine to empty the tub between wash and spin stages. Proper water removal reduces standing water inside the washer and supports effective cycle completion. This replacement component is designed for compatible washer models and can replace a damaged pump that causes slow draining or water retention. Its primary function is to maintain consistent drainage and support normal washer performance. The drain pump provides a practical replacement option for addressing water removal issues without replacing the entire washing machine.
