The Whirlpool WPW10443885 Front Door Lock Latch secures the washer door and supports proper door locking during wash cycles. This replacement latch fits into the washer door assembly and aligns with the door lock mechanism when the door is closed, keeping the door securely positioned during selected cycles. Proper latch alignment allows the washer control system to detect the closed door and proceed with the cycle as designed. A worn, cracked, broken, or misaligned latch may cause door-lock errors, cycle interruptions, or difficulty closing the washer door.
