The Whirlpool WPY54414 Dryer Idler Pulley Wheel maintains proper tension on the drum belt for smooth, consistent drum rotation. Positioned within the belt drive system, the pulley keeps the belt aligned as the motor turns the drum during drying cycles. A worn or damaged wheel may cause squealing, grinding, belt slippage, uneven drum movement, or longer drying times. Replacing a faulty pulley wheel can restore proper belt tension, reduce unwanted noise, and support steady drum movement.
